Men's Diver Watches
Diver watches are a lot different than water resistant watches, and it’s not just that the water resistant ones are cheaper! Men’s diving watches, originally developed by Rolex, have a helium valve that allows for adjustments at extreme depths. Originally, the ISO diving standard depth was 100m, but today a diver watch is water tight at 300+ meters. Be sure to take this thing on your next water adventure!
The men’s watch used in many Bond films is often times a diver watch. The extra crown that acts as the helium crown is portrayed as the device that controls Bond’s crazy spy gadgets. The classic example is the Omega Seamaster, but Sean Connery wore a Seiko in Never Say Never Again. Can’t get much more canonically and manly than Bond, can you?
